This project for Lienback is a standout example of how strategic design can simplify high-stakes legal and administrative complexity.
By transforming a text-heavy, stressful process into a clear, "relaxed" digital experience, I bridged the gap between state regulations and user ease.

Brief Context
Lienback offers a specialized service helping towing companies, repair shops, and storage facilities claim titles for abandoned or unclaimed vehicles.
The existing process was notoriously stressful, time-consuming, and buried in complex, state-specific legalities.
The client needed a two-phase digital solution: a high-converting landing page to explain their value proposition and a structured application portal to handle multi-step query submissions.
The primary goal was to replace an information-heavy, unclear system with a streamlined flow that communicated professional reliability and simplicity.
Stress Reduction :
Transitioning the brand from "legal complexity" to a feeling of being "taken care of," as reflected in the name Lienback.
Information Architecture :
Condensing massive amounts of legal text and state-specific rules into a scannable, modern layout that didn't overwhelm the user.
Multi-Step Data Entry :
Designing a complex query submission flow—covering seller, service, auction, and buyer details—without causing user fatigue.
WIX Technical Constraints :
Building a robust wallet history and transaction tracking system entirely within the WIX ecosystem while maintaining a modern UI.
Design Approach
I leaned into the brand name Lienback to establish a "relax and let us handle it" visual direction. For the hero section, I chose imagery of a person relaxing to immediately lower the user’s stress levels upon landing.
To solve the navigation issues, I redesigned the service pages using a Summary-First approach. For example, the "Full Title Packet" was headlined with "We handle everything, start to finish," while the "Mechanics Lien" specified, "We give you forms, you handle the rest". This gave users instant clarity on their level of involvement.
For the application portal, I utilized a Phased Submission Flow to break down the query process into manageable sections (Seller > Service > Auction > Buyer). I added high-realism document previews so users could see exactly what they were getting, increasing trust and transparency.
The entire layout was designed to be mobile-first, ensuring that busy tow-truck operators or shop owners could check their wallet history and file queries directly from the field.

Key Learnings
Emotional Branding :
I learned how powerful a name can be; by aligning the visuals with the "Lienback" name, I created an immediate emotional connection with stressed users.
Clarity as a Feature :
This project proved that for service-based businesses, a clear summary of "What you do vs. what we do" is more valuable than pages of technical text.
Niche UX Thinking :
This project pushed my skills in Variables Understanding the specific needs of towing and storage facility owners allowed me to prioritize the features that mattered most: speed, mobile access, and clear status updates. Auto-layout, creating a file that wasn't just a design, but a functional product configuration tool.
