Research indicates a common concern — the stress of managing budgets, and the daunting task of finding the perfect vendors, uncertainty about communicating with vendors, etc.

In the rush of wedding planning, couples get caught in a confusing maze of choices and costs. They're on a constant loop, trying to shift through numerous vendors, all claiming to offer something special. The problem? No centralized platform. This leaves couples juggling vendor research, budget alignment, vendor communications, and keeping tabs on RSVPs.

They're on a constant loop, trying to shift through numerous vendors, all claiming to offer something special. The problem? No centralized platform. This leaves couples juggling vendor research, budget alignment, vendor communications, and keeping tabs on RSVPs.
Also often times, couples impulsively opt for high-cost vendors initially, & realizing the strain on their budget when exploring additional options/vendors. It's like fitting pieces into a puzzle without knowing the full picture. Without a streamlined process, decisions become even more complex, making maintaining a clear picture of wedding plans a challenge. I termed this as: “ Budget Overshoot Dilemma.”

Asking my friends and family members about their experiences, one-on-one interviews to lastly affinity mapping helped me to actually understand what people think about planning the wedding & also tp identify specific issues the app would need to address.

While competitors emphasize on providing personal assistance, my product could've needed a dedicated team of employees. It would cost the users for that assistance, resulting in extra cash in the users' budgets. Our main goal is for users to organize wedding at lower cost yet not sacrificing quality. We also had a business restriction of having a limited team of employees, so we couldn't create a separate team of employees for this.
While competitors emphasize on providing personal assistance, my product could've needed a dedicated team of employees. After conducting user interviews I got to know most of the users didn’t know what RSVP means. But after explaining them what RSVP means and how it helps a lot in planning events, then they were interested in using it for their events.

Low-fidelity prototype testing allowed me to better understand what users feel important & know how they complete the tasks. By studying their touch and swipe gestures — and more importantly, having a dialogue with them about what they expected and when — I knew which adjustments needed to be made to lay the foundation for a more fully realized high fidelity prototype. Small details such as actionable and consistent iconography, and consistent paths to get back, would become important elements of the design system.
